Small Business Saturday

Many of my blogs discuss the special legal issues and experiences of the small business environment (as they relate to Estate Planning), for example the buy/sell agreement. My family has owned a small business for decades, thus it is a topic of special interest to me.

Now it is time to celebrate the small businesses of the U.S. by supporting them on Saturday, November 28, 2015 – designated Small Business Saturday.

On Small Business Saturday, people are asked to shop at a small business in their neighborhood to show support.

There are also helpful hints on the Small Business Administration government website  for business owners.  For example – Hints about marketing campaigns that a small business owner can have during the holiday season.

And if you do not think small businesses are important…here is some date (see * below for the source)

According to 2010 data of the U.S. Census Bureau there were 27.9 million small businesses in the U.S.

(A small business has been defined as a business with fewer than 500 employees.)

More than 50% of workers work in a small business. *

Small business has generated about 65% of the net new jobs since 1995. *

On November 28 take a stroll down your Main Street; purchase something from a small business store and help to support Small Business Saturday.
