Living Past 100 – The Centenarian Project (Colorado)
If you are fortunate to have a loved one who is approaching 100 years of age, then the state of Colorado wants to help you celebrate. According to the government website: The Centenarian Project (Colorado) is “a promotional activity of the Commission on Aging to celebrate the lives of Centenarians across the state, recognize their individual century of achievement, and focus the attention of all Coloradans on the political and social issues of aging.”
The website is www.colorado.gov and the government agency is the Colorado Commission on Aging. There is also much valuable information on other aging topics on the website.
“The Centenarian Project recognizes seniors who have achieved the age of 100 or older by awarding centenarian certificates prepared by the Commission and signed by the Governor.”
If you are planning a party for the birthday event, then the certificate makes a very special presentation.
On the Colorado government website there is a form to complete. NOTE: The form should be submitted at least 90 days prior to the birthday.
